Nyaming in Nama

Last Thursday we had the pleasure of dining at the amazing Artisan Raw Food Restaurant: Nama.

This gorgeous little restaurant is open, light and fresh completely reflecting the food that they serve. We knew we were going to be in for a treat when we entered as Leo and Esther (The staff) greeted us with warm smiles and looked after us so well. We saw another waitress carefully going through the menu with a couple next to us making sure they understood what was going to be served in detail. By the end of the night we had formed a friendship with this wonderful couple sharing stories across our tables. (If you are reading - we cannot wait to visit your farm :) )

So here's a run down of what we ate...

Starters

Sushi Platter (Kohlrabi rice, ‘roasted’ Asian mushrooms, carrot, cucumber, cabbage, avocado, sprouts, nori, sesame dipping sauce, Savoy salad)

This was absolutely amazing!!!!! The best Vegetable Sushi we have ever had!

Mexican Wrap (Mexican spiced mix, guacamole, probiotic cashew sour cream, pico de gallo, courgette wrap). 10/10 the guacamole was just right- slightly chunky so it acted as the main part of the filling instead of as a dressing.

Mains

White Zucchini Pasta (zucchini spaghetti, celeriac, white wine and herb sauce, wild mushrooms, dried apricots, pine nut parmesan)

Soooo Filling I don't think we needed as much as what was served but it is always better to have too much then too little. The sauce was gorge but if you don't like very rich flavours this one isn't for you.

The ‘Italian’ Pizza  (courgette & walnut base, pomodoro sauce, pepper, nut and seed cheese, caramelised mushrooms, marinated mushrooms, black olives, sundried tomatoes, micro herbs). The perfect size as this pizza will fill you up quicker than you can imagine. The courgette and walnut base was soft but with a bit of crunch and then the combination of the tomato sauce, creaminess of the seed cheese was lovely. This wasn't our favourite dish but we would still recommend it, as it is so original. And it was actually nice to try a vegetable base pizza as my(Nays) attempt to make a cauliflower based pizza was an absolute FAIL!!!

Dessert

Fermented Blueberry Cheesecake & Chocolate Ganache Tart

YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! The blueberry cheesecake was sweet, tangy and crunchy and beautifully presented.

If you love dark chocolate you will LOVE the ganache tart as it is very rich in flavour and the petals that decorated it gave a puff of floral tones when eaten with it.

Drinks

We were slightly lagging from two nights before so stayed well away from the alcohol. Jade had a Bountiful Berries Smoothie (Blueberries, coconut water, coconut meat, coconut oil, raspberries, dates, vanilla)

Nay had a Ginger and Lemon Infusion. Both were just what we needed to feel rejuvenated and they also gently washed down all of the amazing food we had.

Nama can be found at 110 Talbot Road, London, W11 1JR -   Opening times below:

This cosy restaurant is in one of our fave areas in London so whether you go here for breakfast, lunch or dinner you will find yourself somewhere else in the area after. Whether it be Portobello Market, our fave pub Portobello Star or cocktail bar Trailer Happiness
